Phlebotomy Program

Entrance Requirements: At least 18 years of age, state ID, high school diploma, college degree or equivalent, TB test and background check

Following successful completion of the classroom portion of the 6-week phlebotomy training students are placed in a clinical internship at a hospital, laboratory or clinic. The purpose of the clinical internship is to allow students to be exposed to a real phlebotomy environment and clinical setting where you will utilize the skills learned in class. This is a vital part when applying for jobs. Prospective employers like to see that you are familiar with a phlebotomy work environment and have drawn blood on actual patients. The class meets twice a week for 6 weeks, 4 hours each session. The clinical internship is 40 hours of training for an additional week.

Pharmacy Technician Program

The Pharmacy Technician program at American Healthcare Institute introduces the job responsibilities and knowledge and skills required of a pharmacy technician. The student is taught how to  assist the pharmacist in collecting, organizing, and evaluating information for direct patient care. The instructors at American Healthcare Institute engages students with hands on techniques with lectures and labs to prepare the student for the Certified Pharmacy Technician Exam

After successful completion of the basic Medical Assistant Training course, this course combines classroom instruction of 136 hours and an off-site internship of 40 hours to provide students with a comprehensive learning experience. The class meets twice a week for 11 weeks, 4 hours each session.

Dental Assistant Program

At American Healthcare Institute our Dental Assisting program trains individuals in a broad range of clinical and administrative skills to be qualified dental assistants. Students are taught how to prepare patients for dental exams and treatments, performing radiographic procedures, scheduling and appointment procedures, maintenance of medical records, performing basic front office skills, professional communication and public relations skills. The program is registered with Ohio State Board of Colleges and Careers. Students meet twice a week for 12 week lab and lecture class sessions. Upon completion of the course students will be able to take the Dental Assisting Board exam to complete their certification as a Certified Dental Assistant.

State Tested Nurse’s Aide Program

American Healthcare Institute provides opportunities for individuals to enter into the world of nursing through the State Tested Nurse’s Aide 10-day entry level nurse’s aide education course. Our curriculum provides hands on skills that allow you to learn the techniques for performing accurate care to patients under the supervision of the RN/LPN. The multi-discipline institute allows individuals to discover their strengths and interests then follow through in any of a wide array of health-related career pathways.

The Nurse Aide Training Certificate is designed to instruct students in the knowledge and skills needed to provide basic care for clients in long-term care settings. The 75-hour course includes 60 hours of classroom/lab instruction and 16 hours of clinical preparation, which meet the requirements for nurse aide training in Ohio. Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to state test. All students will have the opportunity to receive STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) certification which is a good foundation for all health related careers.

Early Childhood Development Certificate Aide

American Healthcare Institute prepares graduates to work in an early childhood learning center setting as a teacher’s aide, and childcare center administrator. This program takes a hands on approach to operating a childcare setting as a teacher’s aide or administrator by learning the fundamentals to facilitate the operation of child development programs ranging from working with children and families to administration and management.
